TRAFFIC OFFICER HITS THE ROAD TO HELP FAMILIES
Roads Policing Sergeant Brandon Brown is taking part in the Andy Cox Challenge 2022 on his bike in a bid to raise money for Road Peace.

Road Peace is a national charity that supports people bereaved or seriously injured following road traffic collisions.

Detective Chief Superintendent Andy Cox from Lincolnshire Police embarked on a 200km run in 2021, raising over £50,000. To make 2022 even better, this year’s challenge has been extended to all police forces, aiming for over £500,000 to be given to Road Peace to continue their vital work.

Brandon explains more about his goal, he said: “I have committed to doing at least 100km by bicycle every day for seven days.

“I am a keen cyclist and have previously done Land’s End to John O’Groats in seven days, but I am older, heavier and I really don’t like hills! I also have four 12 hour shifts during the challenge.

“As Roads Policing Officers we see the devastation road traffic collisions cause to families and friends. If you can spare a couple of quid, it will be appreciated and go to a worthy cause.”
