BEEP BEEP DAY IS BACK FOR 2024
Following the huge success of last year's Beep Beep! Day, road safety charity Brake is pleased to announce it's back for 2024!
Join Brake on Wednesday 24 April to teach young children aged 2-7 important road safety messages.
You can sign up now for a free pack of teaching resources. All resources feature characters from Aardman’s popular children’s tv series Timmy Time.
In 2023, nearly 2,000 schools, nurseries and early years settings signed up to take part reaching over 100,000 children.
Their Beep Beep! Day activities centred around three important road safety topics for this age group:
“It's also a great time to fundraise for Brake and support our vital work helping families who have lost loved ones in road crashes.
“Road safety is a subject that even the youngest children know something about because road danger affects everyone. Danger from traffic is a big factor in whether families are able to walk and cycle safely in their community. It affects their ability to be healthy and socially active.
“Even though very young children shouldn’t walk or cycle independently, they are still at risk of being hurt or killed when walking or cycling.
“It's not a nice fact to hear but every day six children are killed or seriously injured on UK roads – that’s equivalent to a whole class of children every single week.
“Road safety is the perfect topic for activities that can really engage, protect and benefit young children, and Beep Beep! Days are a perfect way to do it.”

- Holding hands with a grown-up when walking near roads
- Crossing roads at safe places with a grown-up
- Using a child seat when travelling by car.
