This week, to celebrate Cycle to Work Day 2020 on Thursday (6 August), South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership (SYSRP) is launching a new pedal-tastic project.
The latest addition to our team - DynaMo - will be unveiled at around 11am - so watch this space.

“DynaMo is the latest addition to our team and we thought Cycle to Work Day was the perfect time to introduce it to South Yorkshire," she said.
“We wanted to bring cycle safety messages to all road users across Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield and Doncaster in a unique and eye-catching way and when we can, we will be challenging members of the public to take the DynaMo challenge.
“But there is a serious side to this - with the recent rise in the number of people using bikes as their preferred method of travel, now more than ever, it is important that we all respect each other on the roads and share them responsibly.”
The Safer Roads team will launch DynaMo, at Lifewise in Rotherham, on Thursday to promote Cycle to Work Day. The aim of the annual event is to encourage people of all levels of experience to get on their bikes and give commuting a go.
This year, with many people still working from home, the organisers are encouraging people to choose any cycle route and to log their journeys on the Love to Ride website where prizes and giveaways are available.
British cycling Paralympian and Sheffield City Region’s Active Travel Commissioner, Dame Sarah Storey, is supporting the event and promoting safer road use.
"Everyone has the right to feel safe whilst using the road and looking out for more vulnerable road users is vital,” she said.
“During lockdown more people have discovered the joy of cycling and now with public transport running at reduced capacity, many more people are choosing to cycle to work and the shops and, come September, more children and young people will want to ride their bike to school.
“To help keep people riding their bike safe whilst on the road, drivers need to pass with plenty of room - at least as much room as when overtaking a car.”
Throughout this week, SYSRP will be running #getonyerbike social media messaging around cycle safety. This will include information for drivers and non-riders as well as cyclists themselves.
