He’s lean, not mean, he’s dressed in green…introducing Captain DynaMo. 

Captain DynaMo is South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership’s very own superhero.

His superpower is lighting up road safety messages through the magic of pedalling. 

Together with his super bike, Captain DynaMo strives to keep vulnerable road users across South Yorkshire safe from harm.

He said: “My mission is to keep the county’s roads as safe as possible. 

“Whether you’re a driver, cyclist, rider or pedestrian, I’ll be out and about sharing my road safety messages and using pedal power to light the way.” 

To coincide with the Tour De France, Captain DynaMo has kicked off his tour of our county and over the next week, he’ll be asking you to spot which locations he has visited. 

“There are some beautiful and iconic locations across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield and I hope to visit as many of them as possible with my green cape and fast feet,” added the Captain. 

“And when Covid-19 restrictions allow it, I’ll be challenging the people of South Yorkshire to take the DynaMo challenge and have a go on my super bike that generates electricity through exercise.”
