WEATHER WARNING FOR ICE AND SNOW
South Yorkshire has been issued with yellow weather warnings for snow and ice over the next 48 hours.
The yellow snow warning runs from 10am until 4pm tomorrow (6 January) which means that there may be some travel disruption over higher routes.
Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
The South Yorkshire yellow ice warning runs from 8pm tomorrow until 11am on Friday.
Frequent sleet, hail and snow showers may lead to some disruption to travel during Thursday night and Friday morning.
Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
There will probably be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
Some brief power outages are possible with a risk of isolated lightning strikes.
Some injuries may arise from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
