LIFEWISE FAMILY FUN
A big thank you to our partners the Community Safety Team at the Lifewise Centre for organising and hosting such a brilliant day of engagement for people of all ages yesterday (August 3).
The extended South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership family loved chatting to the wide variety of emergency service officers about their work and seeing first hand the kit that they use.
Also a big hit was the court / crime scene and police cell set up - really got them thinking about the consequences of making poor choices.
Of course their favourite bit was setting off the sirens in the police van...
SRP Media Officer Amy Westby said: "What a great way to spend a day of the summer holidays and give families the opportunity to create positive relationships with the people who are there to keep us all safe.
"From a personal point of view, my children are always listening to me talking about the dangers of speeding and general road safety so for them to have a look at the Safety Camera kit and sit inside a police car was awesome.
"The Lifewise Centre really is a fantastic learning facility and provides a brilliant setting for the Partnership to deliver road safety interventions like BikerDown! and Crucial Crew.
"Well done to all involved in the Open Day and what a great way to showcase the work of Community Safety."
