BREAKDOWN KIT
Keep an emergency kit in your car, especially if you’re going on a long journey:
- Tow rope
- A shovel
- Wellington boots
- A hazard warning triangle (two if possible)
- De-icing equipment – ice scraper and de-icer
- First aid kit (in good order)
- A working torch and spare batteries
- A car blanket
- Warm clothes and blankets
- Emergency rations (including hot drink in a flask – non-alcoholic, of course)
- Fully charged mobile phone (plus portable battery charger)
- Hi-viz jacket
- Jump start cables
- Sunglasses
- Road atlas
