Road Safety teams from across the county came together this week to discuss an international approach to saving lives and reducing serious injury.

Guest presenters Dr Suzy Charman (Executive Director of the Road Safety Foundation), Tanya Fosdick (Research Director at Agilysis Limited) and Richard Owen (CEO of Agilysis) hosted a series of workshops focussing on the ‘Safe System’ – a tried and tested approach to casualty reduction.

Representatives from the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership (SYSRP) took part in the practical sessions looking at how the method could be implemented on local roads.

A cross-section of engineers, road safety managers, public health and engagement officers attended the training which will inform the work of SYSRP moving forward.
