South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership
What does the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership do?

Safer Driving at WorkThe Partnership is committed to a coordinated road safety approach across three pillars of activity: education, engineering and enforcement. This is delivered by our constituent partner organisations – each taking a lead according to their remit and specialism.

Education, Training and Publicity (ETP) activity is delivered by the four local authorities, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, South Yorkshire Police and the SYSRP central team based at the Lifewise Centre in Hellaby.

Engineering solutions are managed by the four local authorities (for local roads) and Highways England (for motorways and major trunk roads).

Enforcement is the responsibility of South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Safety Cameras.

This three-pronged approach is designed to maximise the resources available to each of the partner organisations and to create an environment where coordinated and targeted road safety activity can be delivered efficiently.
