South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership (SYSRP) is a collaborative group of public sector organisations that work together to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured (KSI) in road traffic collisions (RTCs) in South Yorkshire. Its membership consists of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield Councils, South Yorkshire Police (SYP), South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR), South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS), South Yorkshire Safety Cameras (SYSC), the University of Sheffield, Peak District National Park and Highways England.
SYSRP is governed by a board made up of representatives from each of the partner members. A central team of staff, funded by the Partnership, supplements and adds value to the work of the four local authorities and delivers countywide road safety activity in line with data-led priorities.
The activities of SYSRP are underpinned by a strategy, Making South Yorkshire Roads Safer: A Safer Roads Partnership Strategy 2017-2026.
